P2 Overview
Project 2 introduces a slight change as the groups are divided into two sub teams. The modelling sub-team focused on the CAD design of a sterilization container and the computing sub-team focused on the coding of the Q-arm, in an attempt to transfer the containers. The main objective of Project 2 is to design a container that securely holds a surgical tool for sterilization and designing a computer program to operate the Q-arm that securely transfers it into an autoclave drawer for sterilization.
Throughout the coding process, many solutions were drawn and changes were made to successfully transport an unsterilized tool within a container to be sterilized within an autoclave drawer, and repeat the process for six containers. It is verified that no compromises have been made in order to fulfill our objectives, such as minimizing size and overall material/weight to fit within the autoclave and firmly holding the container utilizing the robotic arm.
